The Meditation Society of Central Queensland Inc. (the Ananda Buddhist Centre) aims to provide the people of Central Queensland with access to quality Buddhist teachings and meditation techniques for the health and wellbeing of the community.

• We hold weekly group meditation sessions from 6-7PM every Sunday at The Women's Health Centre. Our local teachers facilitate regular 8 week Calm Abiding Meditation courses several times a year. R U Commuting aims to increase the use of cycling for everyday transport and to promote public awareness about cycling and walking as an activity that has many economic, health and environmental benefits. Active travel is an easy and accessible way for people to include physical activity in daily lives. The most common forms of active travel are walking and cycling – the easiest approach to travelling short distances like commuting to work.

• The Pink Pedal Power workshop will take place on the 17th September 2011 at Rockhampton PCYC Bike Park Facility on Bridge Street
• North Rockhampton 9am -1pm There is two workshops on the day each will run for 1 ½ hours. The first will be on Training
• Fitness
• and Nutrition which will be conducted by Brenda Ryan from Step into Life Rockhampton and Jodie O’Keeffe from Vibrant Health and Nutrition. The Second is on Bike Maintenance which will include changing a flat tyre
• the components of a bike and the looking after of your bike. This workshop will be conducted by the guys from Tuckers Avanti Plus Cycle Specialists
